Understand the data

Field boundary

The polygon boundary delimiting a recorded agricultural field in a specific edition.

Definition

A field boundary is the geometry surrounding a declared agricultural field. It represents the dataset record and is not a cadastral or property boundary.

Why it matters

The boundary may change between years as management or registration changes. Spatial comparisons should therefore state both edition and method.
